Georges Marciano is one of the most influential figures in modern fashion.
His story began in Marseille, where he started designing neckties before turning his creative eye toward denim. Fascinated by textures, washes, and the spirit of Americana, he began experimenting with techniques that would later transform the industry—most notably the stonewashed jean, a process for which he is widely credited.

In 1981, inspired by Los Angeles, cowboy culture, and the landscapes of the American West, Georges launched GUESS. With him as lead designer, the brand quickly became a global phenomenon. His vision defined the unmistakable GUESS aesthetic: effortlessly chic, boldly sexy, timelessly casual, and distinctly feminine.
From the 1980s through the 1990s, Georges crafted some of the most iconic looks of the era—silhouettes that still resonate today.
